We specialise in the supply and installation of Australian Boral Timber flooring

  • Solid Flooring 19mm
    • Designed to be glued and nailed down over bearers and joists, or to battens on concrete
  • Overlay Solid Strip Flooring 14mm
    • Designed to be glued an nailed down directly over concrete, existing timber flooring, or structural underplay, as long as the existing floor is clean, dry and flat.
  • Engineered Flooring
    • Engineered Flooring is pre-finished with seven layers of matte finish, top layer of 4mm hardwood allows re-sanding and re-coating
    • Engineered flooring can be glued or ‘floated’ over any level subfloor such as a concrete slab, particleboard or plywood sheeting, or over old timber floors.

The Process

  • Contact us to request a free measure and quote
  • We’ll inspect the site, and discuss options with you: type of timber selection, method of installing, and type of varnish/finish, plus any foreseeable surface preparations
  • You can choose to visit a Boral Timber display centre to check and advise your selection, if you haven’t already done so
  • When our quote is accepted, we arrange purchase and delivery of timber to your site, and confirm the installation date – which is after the 14 day acclimatisation for solid timber flooring if applicable (strip flooring can acclimatise in situ after installation)
  • Installation surface preparations are undertaken as required
    • With slab floors, a moisture barrier is applied prior to flooring being installed
    • For floors with timber joists, we inspect the existing floor in case additional work is required (e.g. white ant treatment)
  • We then proceed with flooring installation
    • Solid timber flooring to joints – using an appropriate method of fixing: secret nailing or top nailing
    • Concrete floors – using applicable flooring adhesive to install strip flooring or engineered flooring
  • The finishing process is undertaken after installation and any acclimatisation needed
    • Solid timber floors are sanded to ensure level, and then subsequently polished or varnished as appropriate
    • For concrete slab floors with strip flooring, the sanding and polishing is done after 14 days acclimatisation
